Above are the only pictures that we were able to take before my phone camera decided to throw a fit. We were hoping to get more, but this is it. It seems cameras, and ABC Motorsports are on the outs these days

If you didn't have a chance to make it out to Funugyz this past Wednesday night, it was a pretty good time. Funugyz is an establishment themed around not only football, baseball and the like, but motor sports as well. Everything on the menu was reasonably priced, and from looking around the tables, they feed you plenty. The service and the atmosphere are great, and we enjoyed the area outside on the patio. Misters cooled off the hot Phoenix heat, and even though outside, you felt a part of what was going on. This was our first time at Funugyz, be it certainly won't be our last. I had the Grand Slam Burger ( I think that's what they called it) and an order of wings, and both were top notch.

Doug Gabbard, owner of Canyon Raceway arranged for this special event. Pete Steele along with Rick Setzer were on hand interviewing racers and talking about what is up and coming out at Canyon. Many Racers were there, and on display were samples of racecars from all divisions. Nathan High, Josh Pelkey, Shon Deskins and others were on hand and interviewed. Pete and Doug talked about some of the improvements that would be up and coming with Canyon Raceway, and what we can expect in the near future as well as some of their long term goals. They also mentioned that they were going to try to have these get-togethers once a month.

The house was packed, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Kids and grown-ups alike were allowed to sit in the cars, and get up close with the racers. Many walking by stopped and expressed interest in what was going on. Many passers-by vowed they would make the trip to Canyon on May 30th to watch the race.

Our hats are off to Doug and Pete for helping to promote our sport. I think their efforts were met with success. You can listen to the interviews and what they had to say by going to their webcast at www.canyonspeedwaypark.com. It worth listening to and may answer a lot of questions that many have about what is up and coming at Canyon Raceway.
