Five different classes of racecars will be in action this Saturday March 28th at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, AZ. The IMCA Modifieds will once again headline the racing program. The Ground Pounding open wheel cars have had three different winners in the three regular season races run so far in 2009.
The IMCA Sport Modifieds return to action at Canyon with veteran Darin Center leading the way in IMCA's economical modified class.
The last time the Pure Stocks were in action Steve Bitting dominated both his heat race and main event beating a very competitive field of stock cars. Multi division racer George Fronsman and many other Pure Stock pilots will look to put an end to that dominating performance Saturday night.
Last week the Desert Dwarf Cars were on hand with thirty two cars and some of the most exciting racing seen at Canyon in some time. After having trouble in his heat race Brian Stehr won the semi main event and came all the way from the back to the front of the main event to take the checkered flag in a thrilling drive that had the fans cheering.
Our Canyon Speedway Park Bomber division was not upstaged however as they had twenty cars going door to door for most of their main event win Ron Neis coming out on top of the full fender action.
Racing begins at 7:30pm. Spectator gates open at 5pm. Admission is just $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors and Military with Children 12 and under always free.
Canyon Speedway Park will continue with its audio webcasting of our events accessed by a link on our tracks website. The webcast begins at 7:15pm with a quick preview of the nights racing activities and then you can listen to all the action from the announcers booth during the event.
Fans are also encouraged to bring an fm radio headset to listen to all the action broadcast over our low level fm transmitter to the grandstand area.
