Due to the rain, Manzanita
Speedway has postponed the
Donnie Davis Memorial
Last Race til Sunday April 12th. They will try to run all of the main events
that were not run on Friday Night. The track crew at Manzanita did their best to
try to make things work for tonight, but when the rain would not quit,
postponing the race was imminent. Track promoter Hollywood said that they would
work all night if necessary to have Manzy ready for tomorrow. Those that come to
watch will not be dissapointed. With the ASCS Canyon Regional Sprints turning
times that rival the 410's, it should be a fantastic show.
Pit gates will open at 9:00 a.m.
with racing action slated to go green at 2:00 p.m. We hope to see everybody
there!
The Late Model and Super Stock main events that
were rained out last night will run with the scheduled Sprint Cars, Midgets,
Mini Sprints and Modlites Sunday afternoon. The final checkered flag will
bring an end to Manzanita which has been continuously operated since August
25, 1951. The track has been sold to Southwest Crane and Rigging and the track
will be torn down.
