Tucson, Arizona (May 9th, 2009) - Lonnie Parker Jr., The Mild Child, railed to victory in a wild, door banging 25 lap SWDRA Late Model feature.  Parker, who was caught up in a lap 21 incident with RC Whitwell, captured his 3rd USA Raceway feature of 2009.
 
Whitwell, who tagged the field after being late for driver introductions, drove from last to challenge Parker for the lead on lap 21.  Whitwell's impressive run came to an end after he and Parker got together resulting in a caution and ending Whitwell's night.  Parker finished the 4 lap dash edging out Anthony Madrid and Joey Moriarty. Tommy Hussak III, Mike Brigner, Brad Whitfield, Jamie Throckmorton, Jerry Fincher, Brad Williams and Randy Carder rounded out the top 10.
 
Sy Monroe made it two in a row in the 15 lap factory stock shootout.  Monroe took charge early from his second row starting position and held off a host of top contenders.  Monroe crossed the line in front of Josh Burdick, Dustin Gauthier, Dingus Morrow and Kalvin Catlin.  Point Leader Terry Churchwell allowed the point battle to tighten up as he failed to make the call for the feature.
 
Stephen Lee and Duane Jones both won in exciting fashion in the Hornet Divisions.
 
Justin Thornton was victorious in the debut of the much anticipated x mod division.  The x mods will gain momentum as they continue to grow into a great series.

USA Raceway hosts Armed Forces Appreciation Night presented by the Tucson Airport Courtyard this Saturday May 16th as The Champions of the UMP West Modifieds are joined by the stars of the ASCS Wing Sprint Cars and AZ Modified Midgets.  General admission tickets will go on sale at 5pm for only $12, racing will begin promptly at 7pm.
