San Felipe, NM (April 18th, 2009) - Bumper Jones battled to victory lane in the fiercely contested UMP West Modified 25 lap feature at Hollywood Hills Speedway.  Jones stood victorious after holding off several charges from a stout group of UMP Modified competitors as he captured his second win of the weekend.

Jones took control of the race from his 5th place starting position, showing the way around the high side of the fast 3/8 mile clay oval.  Johnny Scott and RC Whitwell put the pressure on Jones with Scott moving into the lead on lap 19.  Lapped traffic would prove fatal for Scott as he and Jones got together halting action and ending his chance at victory.  "I feel really bad, he is a really good friend and I hate to win this way" explained Jones in a post race interview.

Whitwell, after pressuring Jones for the final six circuits, would settle for the unfamiliar show position.  Allen Sharpenstein, Curt Barnett and Stormy Scott rounded out the top five of a stellar 41 car field.

Kenny Ford paced the field in the street stock feature event.  Ford out dueled Jeff Whyman and Lalo Saenz in a door banging battle to the finish line.  Eric Nelson and Ronnie Bell filled in the remaining positions earning top five honors.

Jon Paques led a super competitive field of Hobby Stocks across the finish line, making a clean sweep for the night.  Paques held off top contenders Dan Harmon and Shane Kapinski for his first victory of 2009.

Ren Johnson received 1st place hardware in Dwarf Car action edging out JC Gileland and Randy Haugen.

Greg Midel earned the top of the podium in the Cruisers with Delbert Chavez and Mike Sullivan filling in the top three.
