San Felipe, NM (April 14th, 2009) - The non
winged forces of the NMMRA sprint cars prepare for an invasion of the best
sprint car drivers in the west. The Battle is set as the series fires to life
for the first time in 2009 this Saturday night at New Mexico's Hollywood Hills
Speedway.
Reigning ASCS Rocky Mountain series champion, Derrik Ortega, will have a stout
cast of characters to contend with as drivers from the western states congregate
in New Mexico for what will be an ultimate battle of non wing sprint cars.
Mike Martin, ASCS hot shoe, will join the NMMRA ranks on Saturday's card.
Martin, fresh off a top five finish at the fabled Manzanita Speedway, will look
for his first victory of 2009.
No stranger to Hollywood Hills non winged Sprint Car circles, Jon Taylor and
Jody Williams will be on hand to contend for the first victory of the year at
the regarded New Mexico racing facility.
Several Champions from the southwest will dive in for the debut of the NMMRA and
the $1000 grand prize as Hollywood Hills celebrates its 2009 sprint car debut
this Saturday night.
The super fast NMMRA sprint cars will open their 2009
season along with Street Stocks, Mini Sprint and Cruisers. General admission
tickets will go on sale at 5pm for only $10, racing will begin promptly at 7pm.
Hollywood Hills Speedway is located between Albuquerque
and Santa Fe off of Interstate 25 exit 252, just 10 miles north of Bernalillo.
