"The Shermanator" Rolls to Another ASCS Canyon Win
Lonnie Wheatley, PHOENIX, Ariz. (September 20, 2008) – Jeremy Sherman laid claim to his second four-race win streak of the year by topping Saturday night's 30-lap Discount Tire Co. American Sprint Car Series Canyon Region feature event atop Manzanita Speedway's ½-mile clay oval.
Advancing from the sixth starting position, Sherman took command before the midway point and led the rest of the way en route to his eleventh series win of the season aboard Fred Bryan's Wesmar-powered F&E Development No. 77.
Sherman took the checkered flag in front of Charles Davis, Jr., Andrew Reinbold and R.J. Johnson, with early leader Jay Ervine rounding out the top five.
Nathan High, Mike Leslie, Stevie Sussex, Bernie Smith and Mike Martin completed the top ten.
Garrett Hansen flipped on the opening lap of the feature and was transported to the hospital, where it was determined that he had sustained no injuries.
