5-3-08 Manzanita Speedway Cole Kaskey Night

As if last week wasn't enough punishment, we decided to run the midget and the sprint car once again. We got the other sprint car ready to take over the duties so that we could retire the ailing Goose and get his engine repaired. While it is in the shop, Paul at Advanced Engine Supply will fit it with a new set of heads, and a new injector set. This should help it get back to the way it should run without the restrictor gaskets. Meanwhile, the backup car, affectionately named Herbie will be carrying the baton for a while. Herbie would prove to have some bugs. We arrived at the track, and had the ASCS officials give the car a look over, and we put the series sponsors stickers on. We fired up the engine, and set the timing and fuel. Drawing a 48 pill, we would start in the back row of the 3rd heat. Meanwhile we would run the trophy dash with Charles, Jeremy, and Andy Reinbold. It was an easy win.
Time to send Midgey out to do battle. Nathan started the Trophy Dash, and the little car just didn't want to run past an idle. Nathan pulled in, and Dustin found a bad ground wire under the chassis. Thinking that we had found the problem, Midgie was readied for the heat race.
Back to the sprinter. Nathan took the green and immediately went to work. One by one, he started picking off the cars in front of him. By the third lap he was up to 5th place, when the car started rocking violently back and forth. It became a handful, and the forward progress would stop. Nathan hung on to finish 5th. Back in the pits we would find that the stud for the lower left rear shock mount had broken in half, and caused the car to react badly.
Out with the midget.... Nathan went to the first corner under power, and came in with the same problem. Mike Checked the pickups on the front balancer for the electronic ignition, and found a problem with on of them. It was repaired, and redied for the Main event. Meanwhile, two other cars would drop out of contention for the night, leaving only five midgets to run the Main. Nathan ran the Midget Main almost uncontested. It was nice to win two in a row.
Back to the Main Event for the Sprint car. Nathan Started in the 6th row outside, and within 2 laps, we knew it was going to be a long night. Herbie and Nathan would argue over every lap. Nathan tried the bottom, then back to the top, nothing seemed to work. We would settle for 12th over all. Reviewing the notes from the evening before, we had tried to make a few adjustments on the setup that seemed to be working well on the midget. Well, a sprint car is not a midget, and certain things just don't work the same. What make Midgie happy, made Herbie pretty grumpy. That coupled with getting re-aquainted with another car, made the night less than productive. We will lick our wounds, re-group and ready ourselves for Casa Grande.
4-26-08 Manzanita Speedway

We finally got the midget back together, and we wanted to try it out before Hollywood Hills. Even though it really stresses the team trying to run two cars in the same night, we had a good reason to re-consider our new formed policy. We got both cars ready, and loaded them up. It was a little hectic with two drivers meetings, two pill draws, two needy cars, and one crew, but we were up for the task. Mike and Craig Burkhart were there to help, and what a help they turned out to be! Both the sprint car and the midget performed well. Starting the night Nathan would win the Trophy Dash. The celebration would be short lived, as it was time to get back to work. Nathan would start at the back of the first midget heat, and finish fourth. Then he would win the second heat. Time for the sprint car. Nathan would finish a healthy 4th place to secure his spot in the Main Event. The Midget Main was quick and concise. Within the first couple of laps, Nathan was out front and never looked back. He took the checker more than a full straightaway ahead of RJ Johnson. The win felt good. I really enjoyed running with the AMRA. Everyone was great, and we were welcomed with open arms. The $1,000.00 check was nice, too. I can't believe that that club doesn't have better support. And they put on a heck of a show. On to the sprint car..... We went to staging with the confidence that we were going to do well. The car had performed impeccably all night, and the track was predictable. Would this be the night for us to finally break through? We could only do our best and hope. Starting in the front row outside, Nathan would try to get the car set as soon as possible. it was a close battle between rj and the ABC Car for the first few laps. At one point Nathan was fighting for the lead, but being a little down on horsepower, along with a few yellows would take it's toll. Little by little, the faster cars sifted through, until the battle was for the third spot between Nathan and Jeremy Sherman. One more yellow would allow our tire to cool enough to make the 12 car a handful. Nathan would take third place respectably with 6 pounds of pressure in the right rear tire. All in all, it was a great night, and we all had fun. This will be the last race for this sprinter for a while. Time for the motor to go to the doctor. We will get last year's car ready to go for next week.
4-20-08- USA Raceway Park

- That trip to Tucson is a long one from Cottonwood. We started off at 11:00 and pulled up to the gate at 4:30. It was alittle windy, and we were skeptical. USA has always been a misnomer for the ABC Team, as it is unfamiliar, and under the old management, the track was very unpredictable. Needless to say, in the past it was a long trip to a big dissapointment. That would not be the case this time. Nathan would be in the Trophy Dash, and finish 3rd. Into the heat, Nathan would pilot the ABC Sprinter to another 3rd place spot behind Aiuto and Sherman. The track was staying real nice, and we didn't want to dial ourselves out of the Main. The program was moving right along, so we got the car ready to go. The Main Event went well. a couple of times he would dice it out with Jeremy Sherman, but Jeremy finally got by him to finish second to Charles Davis. We would take the third spot. We will be back to Tucson for sure. The racetrack was well run, and we had a great time.
4-6-08 Manzy

We would run at Manzy this weekend, and we feel we are getting closer every week. The new motor is not quite done yet, so we will patch this one up and run it. There is a lot to be said for Paul at Advanced Engine Supply. He walked me through step by step what I needed to do to get things going again. When Paul builds you a motor, you get the whole package. Not only does he have a knack for making these 360's run up front, but he is there to help you fine tune things. At the track he's a big help. We drew a high pill, and would start the heat race in the third row outside. Nathan brought the car up to second to finish behind Mike Colegrove. On to the Main event. Rolling out to stage we would start on the outside of the second row and finish 4th. Every week we get just a little bit closer.
3-30-08
This night would be one that we would choose to forget. I think we hit about a 10 on the trouble meter. Nathan would start the trophy dash in the outside of the front row. Josh Pelkey got the jump on him, and Nathan could not work his way around him. On the way into the pits the engine started knocking real loud. We pulled the valve covers and found that the #8 exhaust valve tappet was loose. Not being sure what the problem was, we tried to reset the valve, and the motor would not turn over. Even after trying to start it with the push truck, the motor would not turn over. We backed the valve back off, backed the car down and got it to run. The noise was gone, but we were on 7 cylinders. We had already missed our heat, and it was into the semi to try to at least hold our points up. With no time to adjust the car in any way, shape or form to get it ready for the drying track, Nathan rolled to staging with the car set up as it had rolled off the trailer. Starting in the back of the b- feature, Nathan would struggle for a 7th place finish. On to the Main event.
Nathan started in the back row, and would stay there to finish out the night in 17th place. I happened upon Charles Davis Jr. while going to get a snack at the race-mart trailer, and he mentioned that he thought that our left rear shock was going bad. I could not believe that he had the presence of mind to think about our left rear shock while passing us on the half mile at over 100 mph going into turn 3. When we got the car home and checked the shocks, sure enough, he was right. There was no rebound dampening left in the shock. The car would just lay over on the right side like a wet 7 cylinder noodle all night. We inspected the #8 combustion chamber, and found that there was a foreign object that had entered the hole and lodged itself in the exhaust port under the valve seat. it dinked up the top of the piston and the head pretty good. When we backed it down, it must have dislodged it. When we set the valve, we had set it with the object still there, and the compression would bypass through the valve, that never closed. Take a look at this picture and you can see that the deck was just plain stacked against Nathan on this night.
3-23-08 This week the Allen Family didn't get to go to the races, but we left the car in the capable hands of our crew. Nathan would win the trophy dash, he finished 5th in the heat, and finish 4th in the Main Event. It will take a while to match up driver, car, and team, and every week we learn a little bit more.
3-15-08 USAC/CRA at Manzy- Not much to say, We made some changes to the car to put it back the way it was supposed to be. Took the birdcages off that we tried as they seemed to be the cause of the problems. We drew a 36 pill, and we qualified15th out of 24 cars. This would put us 3rd row inside of the first heat. Nathan finished 5th. The car came in very hot, and we changed the fuel settings to try to cool it down. The Main event was a maintainer. Nathan started 12th and ended up 11th. At one point he was 9th, but bobbled a little in turn 2 to let a couple by him. I think we need to start looking for more horsepower if we are going to run with these guys. It's fun to come out and run on the big track at Manzy, and I think if we were a little closer on our final assessment of what the track was going to do, we would have been closer to the front. Meanwhile, I think we will turn this motor over to Paul at Advanced Engine Supply to try to coax some more horseys out of it.

3/9/08 ASCS Season opener at Manzy- The weather was absolutely perfect. We showed up at the track early enough to expect the worst from the tech officials. It wasn't bad at all. They came, checked out the motor and said we were ready to race. Paul from Advanced Engines was on hand for the new car's maiden voyage to make sure all was well with the power plant. We fired it up, and everything went well. Paul adjusted the timing, and we were good. Pill draw would be a 37, and that would put us in the 3rd row outside of the 3rd heat. Nathan didn't seem the least disappointed. He just said, "Sounds great!" and that was that.
The heat race would prove to be a great first outing for the new 360, as Nathan made short order of getting to the front. When the checker dropped, he would be a good straight away ahead of the second place car.
On to the Main Event. Now, ASCS has this new thing that they do with a big dice looking thing. THey had Nathan roll it, and the number came up 12. That means that Nathan would start on in the 6th row outside. Yep, that's right, in the 12th spot. Again, he just chuckled, and we got the car ready to go.
As soon as the green dropped Nathan went to work. He would pick off one car after another till the car started to get too loose to keep up the pace. At one point, the car jumped the cushion between turns 1 and 2, and by the time Nathan pointed the car in the right direction, the two cars behind were right upon him. He managed to keep it going, and widen out the gap between himself and the cars behind him. The car kept getting looser, and he just couldn't close the gap between him and the 3 cars ahead. The ABC Team would have to settle for a 4th place finish. When the car came in, we discovered that the right rear bleeder had stuck, and the tirehad grown 2 inches, and was 3 lbs over what we wanted. Hey, what the heck! we had a blast!

Nathan and Nathan at the Copper World pulling double duty with the sprint and the midget
2-15-08 Copper World- It would be a big weekend for adjustments for the ABC Team. Manzanita Speedway has stepped it up quite a bit. (although the speaker still didn't work by our pit) but you could tell that there was once again heart and soul put into getting the track back into shape. The first night was a muddy rain-out. Saturday would be a shortened 2 day show. We were ready. We would run the Midget and the 410, and hopefully things would go smoothly. We drew a good pill for qualifying in both cars, and Nathan would run two strong runs putting us mid-pack with both cars. The midget heat race would be the first of a rough night. Nathan worked his way through the pack. On a hard charge for the front, the car was clearly the fastest in the heat. Then the car came to an abrupt stop. The motor just died. The dzeus springs had weakened just enough to allow the buttons to loosen, and the battery came loose and unplugged. This would put us into the c-main.
Let's try the 410.... Out Nathan went, working the car as hard as he could, but as the track slicked over, it just would not come off of the corner. When it came in, we checked things over, and the car seemed bound up. We did the best we could to go back over everything, but all looked free, and square. Later we would find that the birdcages that we had tried were not working well, and because of the way they were designed, they would not allow the car to load the rear. Since then, we have taken them off. That would not help us this night however. Nathan would finish 7th despite a hard run.
Back to the midget.. Nathan strapped in and rolled out to staging. We all knew he would be fast, but we had no idea just how fast. It wasn't long before Nathan had found the front, and pulled a good straightaway on the second place car. There he would stay with no contention for the remainder of the race.
Back to the sprint car.. Well, we were definitely not having the best success. We had 1 more chance to make the Main Event, and that would prove to be more futile. Nathan tried hard to tame the unruly beast, but it just would not want to come off the corners. The genius car owner tried something new, and it just flat didn't work. The old adage if it ain't broke, don't fix it? Well...... We got to watch the main event from the top of the pit cart.
On to the B-main with the midget.... Same story Nathan would pick off the cars in front, one by one until he got to the lead. Then the margin just grew longer, and longer till' the checker flag dropped. WOW!
OK, the midget was ready to go for the main. A few little adjustments to bring it up to the track, and we would be on our way. Everybody felt real confident that we would do well. We were buried toward the back of the pack, but that didn't worry us. We knew that Nathan wouldn't let up. The green flag dropped, and one by one, Nathan picked off the cars in front of him. The competition was pretty fierce toward the front of the pack with Jon Stanborough doing his best to make fast an argumentative midget. Finally the cushion would give way coming out of turn four while Nathan and Jon battled for the 8th spot. Neither driver would let up, and Nathan appeared to have the faster car coming off the fourth turn. Unfortunately, the car Stanburough was driving won the argument and jumped the cushion and gathered up Nathan who was trying to see his way past on the top side. The big flipper was on. That would end our weekend. Midgey will be in dry-dock for a while with a few bent parts.
But- other than the rain and that, it was a bad day racin' but better than a good day doing nothing. We are going to have some fun this year. Everybody keeps telling me that this Nathan guy can really drive a race car. I can see that they are right.

"OK, THIS IS NOT GOING TO BE GOOD"

"I WONDER IF ROBBIE WILL EXTEND MY DAMAGE QUOTA "

OK, LEGS, CHECK! HEAD, CHECK! ARMS, CHECK! OK, WERE GOOD. GET ME OUT'A HERE!!!OK,
1-14-08 We are home from the Chili Bowl, and WOW! What a week. I am still walking a foot above the ground from our finish on Saturday. Everything went smoothly all weekend long. Everybody worked hard, all of the work to get the car ready, and Nathan really played it right.
We ran our qualifying night on Thursday, and Nathan finished 2nd in his heat, and won his qualifier. He started in the 4th row inside in the main, and ran 10th. That would put us in the B-Main on Saturday, 5th row outside. Nathan transferred into the A-Main with a 6th place finish. He would have to tag. Nathan had problems early with a pileup between turns 1 and 2 when he got tangled up with some spun out cars. He was able to restart and the car operated fine. Little by little he worked his way up to finish 10th. You could see him strategizing as he navigated the ABC Midget through each lap. He performed flawlessly.
A big thanks goes to the crew, our sponsors, the Burkharts, Greg from Spike Chassis, Casey from Esslinger for all of you help. Also, all that have called, and e-mailed to congratulate us on our finish. Now it's time to get ready for the Copper. I hope the momentum carries through. See you there.

Nathan got gathered up in a mishap on the second lap of the A-Main

Crossing the finish line

The ABC Crew at the Chili Bowl
12-3-07 Napa Martin Seniour signs on as a major sponsor with the ABC Team. It was good news and we welcome them aboard!
11-28-07 We are working hard on the Midget to get it ready for the Chili Bowl. we took some pictures of the project and here they are......

As I walked out the door of the shop, I caught site of something you don't see every day. Pretty cool, huh?
11-18-07 The ABC Team has turned in their application for the 2008 Chili Bowl! Nathan High will be at the wheel of the #12 jr. Midget as part of Team AZ representing the Arizona contingent. We will keep you posted as things develop.
11-12-07 The ABC Team would like to welcome Nathan High and Joni High to the our team for 2008. Nathan will be driving the ABC ASCS 360 Sprinter for the 2008 season with the ASCS Canyon Region Sprint Cars. We look forward to a fun year with the Highs.

11-10-07 The Second night of the Western World Championships- The ABC Crew would not make the same mistakes this night. Even though we had to start in the C-Main and work our way up, we felt that we were in the hunt. The crew made some changes in the car that would improve the way the car would handle through the night. Nathan would start in the last row of the c, and started to pick off the cars ahead one at a time. The #12 sprinter would do all that Nathan expected of it in traffic. Once he got into the open, it was time to hunt down Matt Rossi, who was now a straight away ahead. Nathan flat-footed the car all the way around trying to run the front runners down. At the end of the straights the Gaerte would start to just lay down, and would quit making power. Nathan would have to settle for a well earned 6th place finish, securing a spot in the B-Main. When he came in, the temperature was up to 260 degrees. The ABC Sprinter was running out of fuel deep into the straight-aways, and would loose power. Paul from Advanced Engine would make a fuel adjustment for the B-main. The track was already going away, and we had to tighten the car up. Starting at the back of the B with all of the kinks ironed out, we felt confident that Nathan would transfer into the A-Main. The car was set, the Motor tuned, and we were loaded for bear. Twenty Four cars would start the b, and only the first 12 would transfer. Little did we know, that our trouble riddled weekend was just beginning. The push truck missed the rear bumper, and drove right over the back of the car! Nathan stopped so that the track officials could take a look. Ron Shuman looked at the car, and not seeing anything wrong, he waved it off to start the race. Nathan struggled to keep the car competitive. Why was he struggling so hard to control the car? He passed 1 car, then the next, then the next, and the #12 sprinter protested the whole way! Nathan would not give up! Ahead, a couple cars got tangled up, and Nathan would barely avoid disaster, but the front end grazed the back of the car ahead. A 15th place finish would not be good enough for a transfer spot. When Nathan came in, we had noticed that the push truck had done extensive damage to our car. The left rear down tube was severely bent, the left rear shock was bent, the left torsion arm was bent, and the upper watts link strap was bent, throwing the rear end all out of whack. The front end was another story. Fro the near mishap, the right sway-bar link was broken, the right front shock was disconnected, and the front tie rod was bent. My hat's off to Nathan High for never giving up! Not a bad finish considering the problems we had. The ABC Team would be finished for the night.
11-9-07 First night of the Western World Championships- The ABC Team would ready the new 410 DRC Car for competition with Nathan High at the wheel. The first night was not without it's problems as there were some final tuning issues with the motor, and the shift linkage that was used, had a damaged pivot bolt that had gone un-noticed from a previous wreck. The car would pop out of gear, as the pivot bolt was starting to fail. when it did, it would come out with a large BOOM. It would rattle the linkage so hard that it was moving the cable stay on it's mount. All we could do is pull the car in to gear and hope for the best. Nathan missed his first qualifying lap, and the hot laps, too. he would have to try to qualify last, with only 1 lap in a car that was unfamiliar. This would result in a 52nd fastest time out of a field of 60. It would be a long night. We would have to start at the back of the semi main. The top 8 cars would transfer. Nathan would struggle to a 16th place finish with an ill-handling racecar.
10-20-07 Midget Western Jeff Henry would win his heat, and at the finish line the yoke exploded. That would end his night, and his chances for competing the next night.
10-13-07 The second night of the Parker Store Western World Championships. Casey Shuman would win the Third Heat, Jeff Henry would find a final 5th spot in the 4th heat. The qualifiers would prove to be some spectacular racing as Casey would beat out the Massey's car driven by Jesse Hockett. Jeff Henry would battle his way to a second place finish in his qualifier, securing both ABC Cars a place in the main event. Casey Shuman would end up 6th place, Jeff Henry brought home a 16th place finish. Corey Kruseman would win.
10-12-07 The first night of the Western World Championships. The ABC Team signs on Casey Shuman to drive the back up car as team mate to Jeff Henry. Jeff pilots the new Buckley to a first place finish in the 4th heat, Casey finishes a respectable 3rd in the 6th heat. In the qualifiers, Casey would finish 3rd to Ricky Stenhouse and Bobby Marcum, and Jeff would finish 6th. The Main Event would be a tough one. Both cars came in with blistered tires. Casey Shuman would finish 7th, and Jeff 20th after pulling in with brake problems.
10-6-07 ABC Team fields the new Buckley Chassis- Advanced Engine 360 Sprinter. Jeff wins the heat race, finishes 12th in the main event.
9-22-07 Jeff was finally cleared to drive again, and we felt a good place to start would be Prescott Valley. We decided to run there, and shake down the new car. They called us to the Trophy Dash just minutes before we knew we needed to run. Jeff went out and won it by a good margin. Then the Heat race, then the Main Event. It was our first win in Prescott Valley, and a clean sweep made it that much sweeter.
9-15-07 We would have to sit out Casa Grande. It was too late to plan a trip
9- 9-07 We would try to get our race fix with the Challenge Cup Club in Prescott Valley. Jeff Henry, still recovering from his injuries, We summoned the driving skills of Bernie Smith to pilot the ABC Sprinter. Bernie promptly took to the DRC like a duck to water. Unfortunately, while passing for the lead in the main event, he got double tagged by two of the local drivers. It was a bad deal, but the night's activities really showed what Bernie Smith could do.
9-4-07 no driver
9-3-07 rained out, but we had fun hanging out with Bobby Marcum and helping him for the night
8-26-07 We would have to sit this one out, too.
8-25-07 We would have to sit this one out as the car was not quite ready yet. We were waiting on parts from DRC, and we still had a lot of work to do. We start to move in to the new shop. Everything is strewn all over, and we are trying to organize.
8-17-07 Torch and Robbie were back at Kansas City for the topless Tour, and Gaye and the rest of the ABC Gang decided they wanted to take a turn at crewing the car on their own. Jeff was still not cleared by the doc, so the phone call to Nathan High was made. Nathan said he would be glad to come up and run for them. With a strong run in the heat race, the car was running good. Back out for the main event, Nathan was working his way toward the front. There was a lot of yellows, and each time the yellow would come out, Nathan would be sent back. Finally after one of many restarts, Nathan would wheel over John Brinkley's car and go nose to tail over the turn 3 fence. Back to the drawing board, and fresh out of Chassis, Robbie, Torch, and Jessica would take the back of the car destroyed on July 3rd, and section it on to the front of the car damaged at Prescott to once again be ready to race.
8-4-07 Manzy Half Mile- Jeff still not cleared from the doctor, we recruited Nathan High to drive the #12 car. Nathan got to hot lap before we were rained out. Nathan was very impressed with the car, and was very disappointed that they would not see the winner's circle on that night. We went home with a muddy car.
7-14-07 Indiana Sprint Week- lesson learned - Bring your own car, don't lease one. It's just not the same. We still had allot of fun hanging out with those guys.
7-6-07 We took the newly assembled car to Prescott Valley to try to get right back into the saddle. Jeff finished the night with a respectable 2nd place. He was not feeling well, and would later discover that he was still being affected by a head injury. The Doctors would tell him that he could not race till further notice.
7-4-07 Tyler, Ken, and Robbie rushed to assemble another 360 car to get back in the saddle. We all needed to get going again so as not to loose hope. We had gone through one setback after another, and we were already on our 3rd 360 chassis. This car was supposed to be our new 410 car, but we decided that to run soon was important. We redied the car for Prescott Valley Raceway, and we called Jeff. After finishing a strong Second to Paul Norbury in the Main Event, Jeff was feeling really dizzy and sick. Later after a visit to the doctor, he would find out that he was recovering from a concussion.
7-3-07 The firecracker Flipper- Back to Manzy on Tuesday night. We felt confident that Jeff would do good on the short track of Manzy again. The heat race would not be an easy one with Josh Pelkey, Mike Colegrove, Mike Leslie and Cris Bonneau to contend with. Jeff Won by default when Cris didn't go to the scales. Jeff started the Main event with all of the confidence to charge to the front that he Had just a few days earlier. On the 7th lap, the right front jamb nut failed, and the wheel came off sending Jeff flipping wildly down the back straight away. The car was destroyed, and Jeff would later find out he had suffered a slight head injury.6-30-07 Back to Manzanita Speedway on the 1/3 mile. We had Paul from Advanced Engine in our pit for the night to help us resolve our engine problems. With a couple turns of the wrench, a new MSD box, Paul had the #12 car purring. Jeff piloted the ABC car to a respectable 2nd in the heat race after starting in the 3rd row outside. The Pole Dash was a little tough, as we didn't expect the track to go away as fast as it did. We started the Main Event on top of our game, and Jeff got through the slower cars one at a time. By the time he got up to Charles and Jeremy, he had run out of laps. We settled in for a strong podium finish.
6-23-07 The ABC Team took the week off to regroup
6-16-07 Double Duty ASCS-MANZY ½ Hank Arnold Memorial We had decided to run both the Midget and the 360. This proved to be a daunting task. We had motor problems with the 360, and could not make it work. We tried hard to change the fuel system, and the motor was just flat at higher RPM. Jeff won his heat in the midget, and while leading the main event by a very comfortable margin, the timing belt broke on lap7. Jeff struggled for a 17th place finish in the sprint car. We were done for the night.
6-9-07 Was not able to have the ABC Sprinter repaired to go to Tucson. We will have to sit this one out.
6-1-07 Went to Prescott Valley Raceway to run with the Challenge Cup Sprinters. Jeff took the car out for the heat race, and ended up flipping between turns 3 and 4. The track officials left the ABC Sprinter in the infield of the track for the rest of the heat. We finally were able to get the car back in the pit and assess the damage. The ABC Team put the car back together during the remainder of the qualifying races and were able to ready it for the Main Event. Jeff had to start at the back of the field as he was not able to run the semi. From the back he came, carrying the patched up 12 car up to 7th place when in turn four there was a pileup in front of him. To avoid the crash, Jeff turned to the infield. There right in front of him was a large tractor tire, and he could not avoid it. He hit the tire and flipped the 12 car on it's lid again. The track officials got him back on his wheels and Jeff was able to re-start. Dueling his way back toward the front he soon found himself fighting for the third spot. He missed third place by a nose, and we settled for 4th. The car needed extensive repair, but man, what a show!
5-26-07 Manzanita Speedway Salute to Indy- The ABC Team readies the car for the first heat. Starting in the second row outside position, Jeff battles to the front of the pack, and wins the heat race. The dash did not go so well. The motor was starting to run flat again, and Jeff struggled for a 6th place finish. He would start mid pack for the feature. The ABC Sprinter was a hand full as it was hard to get it to power up coming out of the corners. Jeff struggled for the bottom of a top ten finish, taking the checker in 10th place.
5-19-07 We decided to put the 410 motor in Bullseye (last years 360 car) so that we could run with the USAC/CRA guys on the half mile. JT Imperial would be the driver that night, and we would find that the motor still would not run good. JT struggled to try to get the car into the show. Bullseye would later be totally destroyed in a collision with a slower car trying to get to the pits with a broken draglink. We pulled the Motor and sent it to Paul at Advanced Engine for some more of his miracle work. Bullseye is now in the pile behind the shop keeping the other bent up chassis company.

Last minute the tire is changed. Jeff takes an early lead and wins the feature.

We look forward to running the 2007 season with
ASCA
depending on their schedule, we may run for the whole year, or mix it up a little
with other venues. Jeff will be piloting the 360 Sprinter for the 2007 season. We
have a new DRC Chassis in the shop, and we are currently putting it together.
