Ryan Murphy took the first lead in the 20 lap Challenge Cup Sprint main event. He led it through three laps and then Bryan Swinehart took over to lead at lap four. Lap four also became a red as Dan Bauman flipped in turn two. He was uninjured and after the clean up the race resumed with Swinehart ahead of Murphy and Chris Beal. Tim Beal became the yellow at lap six and the leaders remained the same. Swinehart, while still leading, became the yellow with 8 laps to go and he had to pit with a broken car. This gave the lead back to Murphy who now had ArtMankel right behind him an closing. Murphy held off Mankel to take the win but Mankel III took the 2009 Championship. Third to C. Beal ahead of Troy Mikkelson and Josh Shelton. Trophies were sponsored by Beals Auto Body
