Arizona Sprint Car Association's 2009 Awards Banquet was well attended this year by it's members. Much effort was contributed by ASCA board members to make this event a success. This years banquet was held at the Rock Springs Cafe in New River. Among those who helped out were these sponsors:

Donnie Ream from DReam Enterprises produced the program Using a cover photo from The" Magician's Eye."  Other sponsors that helped ASCA in the 2009 season were Steve Sanders of RSS Industries, Big Mike at Beaver Stripes, Doug Gabbard of Canyon Speedway Park, Colegrove Motorsports, Sharon at Pioneer Trophy, Bill Shaver and Ron Swangler for their donations, Robbie and Gaye Allen of ABC Motorsports.

The Rookie of the Year award was sponsored by Hendrickson Construction. The 2009 title went to Brendan Higgins

Mechanic of the Year was also sponsored by Hendricson Construction. 2009 rendered Mike Colegrove Sr. as top wrench.

A very special award commemorating a very Special person that recently passed away, Arizona's own Rick Stewart Memorial Sportmanship Award was introduced this year. The award recognizes those that have demonstrated self sacrifice, hard work and dedication to support ASCA over the past year. The first Annual Sportsmanship Award was sponsored by Jake's Granite Supplies and was given to Paul Norbury Sr.

The Beaver Stripes Most Improved Driver Award went to Zack Sawyers our 2009 ASCA Champion

The Precision Tile Hard Luck Award went to Nick Aiuto

Bob Bishop owner of the car driven by Steve Sussex receives a well earned trophy for the 4th place car owner. Yes, the envelope was a check. It was a well appreciated bonus to those that fielded cars for the ASCA 2009 Season

A lot of hardware was given out at this year's banquet. It was hard to keep track of it all. I honestly don't remember what this award was for. Jim Stender was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, and did a great job of keeping everyone entertained during the awards ceremony.

Notice in the corner was Jim's distant cousin from the North Country. (you see any resemblance?)

Racers from all over attended the banquet. The banquet hall was packed to the walls with people. Dinner and drinks were served and a good time was had by all. One common thread among all attendees was that ASCA would be well supported for the 2010 season.

A picture of the facility early on. Later that evening the room was packed
