Southwest Championships Next Up For Canyon Speedway

- As the old saying goes, we have saved the best for last and
after a few short weeks with no racing in the Valley of the
Sun, Canyon Speedway Park will return with the first of
several big events on tap for the Peoria race track. The
Southwest Championships, featuring ASCS Sprint Cars, ASCS2 and
The Arizona Figure 8 Championships will kick off the final
events of 2011.
While it may difficult to top the 2010 edition, The Southwest
Championships enters its second year and may do just that.
The unique combination of ASCS Wing Sprint Cars taking center
stage on Friday night and the ASCS Non Wing Warriors take to
the track with the tops off Saturday night make for a
spectacular two day Sprint Car excursion.
Among the top ASCS Sprint Car drivers will be the final outing
for the ASCS2 Micro's as they head into the final two events
of the year. The ASCS2 stars will follow suite with a Friday
night Winged adventure and finish off the season wingless on
Saturday night.
The Southwest Championship and Figure 8 Championship will kick
off a three week span of big events coming to Canyon Speedway
this fall. The October 21st and 22nd
Southwest Championship/Figure 8 Championship will be followed
by the Hall of Fame Classic USAC Sprint Car event on the 28th
and 29th and then capped off by the Desert Classic
November 4th and 5th.
