Tom Ogle threaded the needle off turn two to take the lead with five laps to go in Saturday night's ASCA Sprint Car main event at Canyon Speedway Park.  Throughout the main event the spotlight was on Shon Deskins as he was the first to brave the topside of the slick race track.  Bugs Norbury and Josh Pelkey led the early laps and were challenged by Nathan High, Zach Sawyers, Nick Aiutto and finally Deskins who held the point until getting passed by Ogle.  Following Ogle across the line were Nathan High and Josh Pelkey.  Full results will be posted online at www.canyonspeedwaypark.com.

The AMMA Modified Midget main event was won by Adam Milsap hugging the very bottom of the race track.   Milsap took the lead early and held on through several restarts.  Dustin Cormany went for a wild ride in turn one of the first AMMA heat race.  Dustin flipped about 9 times with his car coming to rest on it's wheels off the top of turn one.  The driver walked away uninjured.

The IMCA Southern Sport Mods saw young Taylon Center record his second main event of 2009 with a daring outside lane pass on the last lap of their main event.  Early leader Shannon Williams had a straightaway lead until a late caution bunched the field up and allowed Center the opportunity he needed to take the point.

Marlowe Wrightsman gave himself an early birthday present by winning the Pure Stock main event.  Marlowe, whose birthday is on Sunday took the lead from his front row starting position and never looked back to record his second victory of 2009 and become the point leader in the reset 2009 points race.

Matt Martinez made it two in a row in the ever popular Bomber division.  Lots of action with three and four wide racing throughout the pack in the 20 lap main event.  Martinez took the lead about halfway and made it to victory lane in the last main event of the evening.

Canyon Speedway Park is back in action next Saturday May 2nd with the IMCA Modifieds, the Pure Stocks and the Bombers.
