Miller passed nine cars on the first lap and led the first four laps before giving way to Matt Martinez who was celebrating his 19th birthday a day early. He led until the 32nd lap when he yielded to Russ Odman. David Watkins grabbed the lead on the 48th lap but crashed on the 84th lap and Miller again had the lead. However Martinez led one lap and then Miller was again leading the pack. Martinez, a factory stock regular who won two features with the bombers led laps 86-107 before blowing an engine. Miller then assumed the lead and was never seriously challenged.
