SWDRA Late Models Return to USA Raceway

 

Tucson, Arizona (March 31st, 2009) – SWDRA Late Models make their much anticipated return to USA Raceway this Saturday night April 4th.  After a month hiatus race fans will once again hear the roar of the engines and the smell of raw fuel as the elite drivers of the Southwest Dirt Racing Association take to USA Raceway’s fast 3/8 mile clay oval.

 

Anthony Madrid, 2008 UMP Modified Champion, made his first 2009 Late Model start at the fabled Manzanita Speedway and found himself in Victory Lane.  Madrid will make his way to USA Raceway and try to fend off the star studded field of the SWDRA as he looks for his first USA victory of 2009.

 

Lonnie Parker Jr., winner of the first Tucson outing and 2008 SWDRA Champion, returns to the Tucson clay looking for victory and an opportunity to regain the points lead.  Parker trails Brad Williams by 30 points coming into the third event of 2009.  Williams, who has two runner up finishes, will be seeking to extend his point lead and find victory lane.

 

RC Whitwell, fresh off last weeks modified victory, will be joined by Terry Belcher Jr., Mike Brigner, Art Lacy and Randy Carder, all looking for a triumph at USA Raceway.

The high powered Super Late Models will headline the show along with Factory Stocks, Southwest Modlites and Hornets.  General admission tickets will go on sale at 5pm for only $12, racing will begin promptly at 7pm.

Season Passes are on sale for only $199 and $149 for Seniors, Students and Military.  Suite Access Passes which allow race fans the opportunity to enjoy the races from USA Raceway’s VIP Suite are also on sale for only $349.
