Mike Spencer Gears Up For The Fontana Automotive "Midget Open"

MNike Spencer

Tucson, Arizona (August 18th, 2009) -2008 USAC/CRA Sprint Car Champion, Mike Spencer, will take a break from sprint car action and head to Tucson's USA Raceway to take part in the Fontana Automotive "Midget Open".

Spencer, who has one USAC Sprint Car win in 2009, sits 3rd in driver points looking for his second consecutive championship.  He will trade in his legendary #50 Ron Chaffin/Bruce Bromme ride for a very potent Pat Fly Fontana Powered Midget as he looks to stop the winning ways of teammate RJ Johnson.

Johnson and Spencer will not be without competition as several drivers have already committed to the August 29th date including the very potent abc motorsports entry of Nathan High.  A full field of Midgets are expected to take part in the first Fontana Automotive "Midget Open" Presented By abcmotorsports.com - Allstate Utility Construction - Tenair Corporation.

The Barnett Harley Davidson UMP West Modifieds will strip down and go topless for the special event.  This will be the first time the Modifieds will be exposed at the track.  Topless Modifieds and High Powered Midgets will be joined by Factory Stocks, Southwest Modlites and Hornets.

USA Raceway, Arizona's premier short track, is located east of Tucson off I-10 exit 268, then 1.6 miles south on Craycroft Road, which turns into Los Reales.  For more information please, contact the track at 520-574-8515 or additional information regarding USA Raceway can be found at www.usaraceway.net
